  • Re: Homemade Laundry Powder - Total Cost/Year ~$30.00 (hopefully less!!)

In your instructions for mixing the laundry powder, when you say 11-14 oz of soap are you referring to its weight or its measurement in a cup? I tried it by weight and I'm thinking maybe that's wrong. I used it on a batch of towels and the grated soap didn't dissolve completely so I had to...

  • Re: home made soap

I learned to make lye-base soap after a friend of mine--a soapmaker--had her baby and retired from making soap. I was hooked! Both hubby and I have sensitive skin, so having absolute control over our washing products is essential to prevent head-to-toe itching.

  • Re: Over Halfway to Christmas!

Not sure about Christmas this year yet. I"ll be making up chokecherry syrup and a variety of homemade soaps- I personally need a new batch of creamy goat's milk soap as I"m spoiled and only like to make my own. I might do a soapmaking party in the area if I find enough interested parties...
