    One tricky problem may be getting the correct needle for the machine. Hopefully it will use a common needle, which if you get the manual it will tell you which needle. Some of the very old machines use a needle that is no longer manufactured, which is sad if that is the only thing that would keep it...

    I've made rice bags out of orphaned socks. Shoelaces for drawstring bags. Miniature binder clips for holding sewing projects, where pins can't be used easily. A large sewing needle became an awl with a handle made from polymer clay. Did the same thing with an old mascara brush; this was a perfect...
