  • Foods that will win the war and how to cook them (almost a century old!)

I just found the text of a book, published during the first world war, about how to save on food. Full of recipes and ideas. Perhaps sometimes a bit oldfashioned, but fun and worth looking through it! http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15464/15464-h/15464-h.htm M.

  • Re: Do You Cook Short Ribs?

It's so delicious. Korean style short-ribe ( thinner cut than traditional American cut) 1. Cut them up between the bones. This is how I like it or leave them the way it is. 2. Marinate with salt, pepper and small amount of sugar + Korean bulgogi marinate sauce. marinate couple hours or overnight...

  • Re: Is Frugal Pet Care Possible?

I wasn't sure I should mention the edible part :) as so many before were dealing with pets with poor health and death issues. I couldn't help it. We actually did eat some but mainly I was so cheap we only ate really old ones or just when we had to clean out the bunny barn cause we had too many...

  • Re: Can a cheap steak be good?

John's busy working hard but this is his wife. Chuck steak is definately more tender after marinating. I"m pretty picking about grilled steaks and it's just not tender enough for me if it's not marinated. He's got his marinade for chuck steaks recipe up on his website http://www...

Will I like the marinated chuck steak or that flat iron as much as I like my filet? When you mention steak sandwiches do you mean like a French Dip sandwich? I do like French Dip.

  • Can a cheap steak be good?

I get tired of just grilling chicken. I love filet mignon but hate the price. Are there any cheap steaks that I would like?
