  • Re: Blackberrys

Gayla, I was thinking of her just yesterday, I was making her famous honey mustard chicken.  I hope she realizes how many of us she touched over the years.

  • Re: Refreshing stale bread

You could try putting it in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel and then closing it up for a few hours.  that might help some.

  • Re: Bountiful Baskets

BB, Bountiful Baskets are great about sending out emails.  I got mine at 2 pm that the truck would be 3 hours late.  My normal pick up was scheduled for 4:45, and it was changed to 7:30.  We are requested to check the site web page and our emails several times during the pick-up day to see if there are any delays.  Most ...

  • Re: Bountiful Baskets

Our Truck was 3 hours late, so was 7:30 pm before we could get our baskets.   I ordered the regular basket and it contained: a personal watermelon, one cantaloupe, 5 lbs of small apples (maybe 15?), 7 bananas, huge head of romain lettuce, 2 artichokes, 3 cucumbers, 4 stalks of broccoli, 4 bell peppers, 5 ears of corn, and  a big ...

  • Re: Sauekraut Made in Jars

I have made saurkraut in this manner before.  It sure is easy, and if you happen to have just a little cabbage on hand it works wonders.  For smaller families I have fermented the saurkraut in quart jars, then canned them up in pint or half pint jars.  Thanks for sharing Gayla.  This is one of those recipes that I never think ...

  • Re: Has anyone gone without a land line (phone)?

Most cell phones do not work in Montana.  Too many mountains, valleys, and just plain old distance.  That said, I do have one, and take it with me when I travel, since there are cell phone towers along the two main highways.  I have my landline for a home phone, as cell phones do not work in my home.  I am like Gayla, either ...

  • Re: Bountiful Baskets

Placed my order for a basket for me and one for my daughter.  We pick up the baskets at 5 pm, weather and road conditions permitting.  Many mountain passes, and with spring thaw here, there could be road problems.

  • Re: Cleaning vinegar

Zohner, I have been making the orange infused vinegar for a couple of months now.  I find it works great and the price is right!   Will have to check out the super vinegar...must be a stronger acid than the regular 5%.
