• Re: Loveday

We didn't have nearly as much trouble with Isabel either. This storm just didn't want to go away, did it?  I read about your mom's incident. Hope she's healing well. Isn't she diabetic? It takes longer to heal from an injury like that if one is diabetic, I know from my brother's experiences.  Three ...

  • Re: Loveday

Hi, VNW!  No, we didn't really get the serious flooding right where I live, thankfully. Our neighbourhood doesn't have any of the tidal  waterways that are so prevalent in Virginia Beach. The neighbourhood just across the main road (Holland Road) from us got a lot of street flooding--DH and I tried to go to Lynnhaven Mall on ...

  • Re: God's Pharmacy

I've read about this. It's called the 'doctrine of signatures,'  and goes way back to medieval herbology and probably farther back even than that. For a long time modern medicine disputed this theory, but it's funny how research in the last few years has proven that there really IS something to some of the old beliefs.

  • Re: update on VNW

There you are, VNW, glad to see you!  Yes, all the weathermen here are saying it's going to get worse this evening. Mostly with winds, making the tidal flooding even worse. It's gotten really rough here in Virginia Beach; I'm a bit worried about my old oak tree in the back yard. Did your computer man tell you to turn your new ...

  • Re: update on VNW

Yes, it's pretty bad here right now. I live in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area, and she's up on the other side of the bridge/tunnel on the peninsula, but we're both getting  it. And it's going to get worse later this afternoon during high tide. Hopefully she and Aurora haven't lost power. We haven't yet, ...

  • Re: Thursday Nov. 12 How Are You Stretching Today?

Hey, everyone. It's been awhile since I posted in this thread. Not because I haven't been trying hard to be stretchy, but because it seems like the same old same old around my house! LOL I've been leading a very boring life lately. Nothing's changed, really, but I just wanted to stick my head in and say I hope VNW is all right. I ...

  • Re: I had NO intention of buying a turkey today, however..

I was at the Walmart near me yesterday and all they had was Butterball turkeys at around a dollar a pound. No Jennie-O nor any other brand. Very disappointing. Hopefully they'll get more in soon.

  • Re: Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
YES! YES and by the way, did I mention YES??  I adore Black Friday shopping. I start about 3 am. The funny thing is the fact that I am never trying to buy the big ticket items. I just love to go and watch the people.
That's me, too! LOL  I don't always go, but when I do go ...

  • Re: Thanksgiving leftovers
I never seem to have any problem with leftover food because I eat it or freeze it and use it later. I don't understand the question that comes up around the holidays - "what am I going to do with all this leftover food?" but I may be in the minority, or even alone! Anyway, this article from Dollar ...
