  • Re: Building a winter wardrobe from scratch...ideas please!

Forgot one hint:  she may want to consider whether she wants the more expensive wardrobe, or cut back on expense so she can spend more time in Hot'Lanta's superb, often cheap, ethnic restaurants.  Of course, with the expensive rags, the guys may want to pay...

  • Re: What are you still harvesting from your garden?

I was wrong about the Sugar Snaps--about half of the seeds came up, and most are blooming.  One little pea so far.  I'll stockpile seeds next year, and plant them a month earlier.

  • Re: A tip on Brussel sprouts

Don't the plants need the photosynthesis, especially when the sun is low in the sky in late autumn?

  • Re: Light Bulb Moment (and not a good one)

Fred's runs sales on incandescents pack of 4/75 cents.   I have learned to love CFL's.  They don't burn out constantly, as the incandescents do, from GA Power's surges and brownouts and our aging wiring.   Methamphetamine users steal incandescents and use butane torches to turn them into meth pipes.  I am not ...

  • Re: Does Anyone Have A Good Recipe for Making Cheese Balls ?

I can has cheese stuffed jalapenos?  Whole pickled jalapenos, cut in half, seasoned croutons, Velveeta, Harvey's Bristol Cream, garlic powder, oregano.  Crumble the croutons, mix with the oregano and garlic powder to taste, then blend in the Velveeta with nice clean hands and add just enough sherry to give it a superb flavor and ...

  • Re: Refilling Ink Cartridge

I have everything I need to refill my Epsons but can't figure out which hole to puncture to get the ink in.   My instructions say that you have to do it before it gets down to 25%.  I refilled my old HP many times with no trouble and my mother, now deceased, always refilled her Canon cartridges.  You use a hypodermic and ...

  • Re: Building a winter wardrobe from scratch...ideas please!

Atlanta has about two months of really cold weather.  NIghts will be in the twenties to thirties, days thirties but mostly low forties as a rule.  Worst year was the ice storm year and it was below zero then.  Make sure the boots are non-skid.  She will need two pair of good walking or cross-training shoes, preferably with ...

  • Re: do it yourself on your computer!

Actually, beyourownIT just emailed me with a drawing for five free computer repair courses.  This is the $60 course I'm already taking, so I'm no competition for you all.  If you register for the free basic e-mail computer classes, you're entered; when he gets 3500 in his free classes, he'll have the drawing for the five ...
  • Re: Abusing the system

Some people do not want responsibility or self-discipline.  They think you're unreasonable for insisting on it.  It's all about them and you're just talking two-legged furniture as far as they're concerned.  @Karen Kay--About a quarter of my county is one generation away from hauling water and doing wash in the ...
