• Re: August Angel Food Menu

Welp, we got a Signature and the flavored Chicken Breasts in July, also did a huge stock up at Sam's to celebrate the new freezer.  We now have a 7 cubic foot freezer in our kitchen, and our little 1.3 cubic foot one is off to bless a friend who lives alone.  Slowly working on getting back into cooking routine and all, need to work ...
  • Re: July Shopping and Cooking

Work's been crazy so haven't been on top of posting here lately.  Don't have exact numbers for grocery shopping this month, but was a few dollars under budget each shopping trip.  Spent the whole $250 built up from skipping trips to Sam's and working on older Angelfood stuff to clear out the freezer.  Ordered AF ...

  • Re: Cashier Etiquette/Protocol

Just wanted to put this out there in case it helps.   I work at Walmart, and the system there is set up so that the cashier has to press Credit or Debit on their side, and EBT has no separate button, but runs through as Debit.  So in our stores, you can say Debit to the cashier, and that's all they need to know.  Maybe ask ...
  • Re: Coffee Questions

I've got a Senseo pod machine.  Got it Fall '07 when they had a deal going giving away "free" machines for $15 shipping and handling.  Not a bad deal, the machine I've got retails at walmart for $60.  I buy my pods from amazon in bulk 2 or 3 times a year.  Since I'm the only coffee drinker in the ...

  • Re: JUNE ANGEL FOOD

Still not sure if we're ordering this month or not.  We're going on vacation right after pick up, and my brother will already be in town for pick up so plans with him may win out this time.  We've still got a good supply on hand at the moment, especially since when we come home on the 28th, kiddo will not be with us, ...
  • Re: Shopping and Cooking in June

June hasn't started yet for our budget, first paycheck in June will be June 11th.  Just had last May check come in Thurs, and did well on budget all around with that, largely due to this being my first check with 80 hours, as well as the raise from my promotion.  Next check will give us the rest of the funds for vacation, it'll ...

  • Re: Do You Have A Freezer

Currently I have a 1.1 cubic ft freezer in addition to the one built into the fridge.  Good news though!  One of my friends at work has a 5 cubic ft freezer, never used, looking for a home.  She won't even take money for it, but I did convince her to trade for my 1.1 cubic ft one, as its just the right size for one box of Angel ...
How long is power out for the typical storm where you are?
We haven't really been hit too hard since we've been in this apartment.  We've only lost power 2 or 3 times total in 2 years, and one of those was construction workers cutting a line accidentally.  Never been out for more ...
  • Re: JUNE ANGEL FOOD

but I'm still paranoid about living in a hurricaine prone area.
I do and I still stock the freezer. I have only lost everything in the freezer twice in nineteen years. The savings of keeping it stocked has far outweighed the loss of it all...at least so ...
  • Re: Shopping and Cooking in May

82.51 for groceries at Walmart, 4.73 at Family dollar for cat litter.  Used about $10 for incidentals earlier in the week, and have 4.31 left in grocery budget til payday June 11th.  House is stocked until then easily, most of the dinner plans we made this cycle are using up meats and such we have in the freezer.  Stocked a few ...
