Pat, don't forget that you can go to a shoe store and just ask for boxes. When I used to work in a shoe store, it was not uncommon for someone to come in and ask for a few boxes, and we almost always had shoes that had unfortunately "walked off" and their boxes were cluttering up the stockroom.

Mine is! I bought 3 cases of cheese last night for $18.00 a case (came out to $1.50 for 8 ounces or $0.1875 an ounce. Hi Jo Bo, Americans usually call those "food courts" but I knew just what you meant.  I actually had never thought to keep other people's food containers before, only my own. Do you worry about sanitizing them before you use them?
