  • Re: No Spend 16 - 23 November

My inlaws went out for a bit so having some quiet computer time and checking in . . . you guys have my sideline support this week!  I don't even want to think about the money being spent right now  . . . . doing my best to control it and keep the flow as slow as possible.  But lots was spent on groceries and such plus we have ...

  • Re: Fri. Nov. 13 How are You Stretching Today?

This may be my last post for awhile as DH's parents arrive this afternoon and will be here for the next 10 days.  I am finishing up some last things this morning and working in DS class this afternoon before they come. I have not been stretchy!  One challenge of their always wonderful visits is the amount of money we spend when they ...

  • Re: Wednesday Nov. 11 How Are You Stretching Today?

Hi all! Gray and cloudy here, kind of chilly too, feels like Fall! I'm mostly staying home, getting ready for the inlaws visit.  Today is my big house cleaning day and I'm a little slow to get started LOL.  By the end of the day, I hope to have the place totally clean so that tomorrow I can do my food shopping and such.  ...

  • Re: Favorite Frugal Cleaners

I use baking soda for scrubbing, vinegar/water mixture for general cleaning and disinfecting. My granite counters in the kitchen get marked by vinegar (it can eat through the finish) so I use Costco's brand of environmentally friendly spray cleaner.  It's a huge jug, a concentrate, that you mix with water in a spray bottle.  ...

  • Re: would you do this? And do you think it's worth it?

LOL leasmom, I too had that realization after we adopted our DS at age 2.  I have always loved to cook but when it was just DH & I I would cook if I felt like it or not.  I didn't worry about 3 meals a day, I barely worried about 1!  If I got the urge to cook, I would go to the store and buy food and cook it.  But ...

  • Re: NO SPEND * Nov 8 - 14th *

Good luck Lee. Yesterday was no spend, today will be except for gas-need to fill up the tank in my car.  Really need groceries and a few household items but waiting as long as possible for two reasons-to spend less money and so I don't have to make a second trip.  Would like to shop for my in-laws visit at the same time.  Will ...

Deb, I think that's funny!! Nana, I am so very sorry for the struggles you are going through right now and hope that a new job will come for one of you very soon.  Best wishes. I got SOOOO much done yesterday, I felt like I made huge progress!  Did  a lot of work which was great but also totally cleaned out DS room and let me ...

  • Re: Thanksgiving Celebration

I believe we are going to my mom's and my whole family should be there (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc).  I know I will bring things to the meal, everyone contributes something, but I'm not sure what yet.  I usually get asked to do the green bean casserole and bake some desserts.

  • Re: Slaying the DD 2009 part 2

That's tough with the transmission Tracy.  One more thing.  It never seems to stop! We're doing ok here, holding steady for the most part.  Except that I have FINALLY sorted out all the medical bills, co-pays and insurance issues and have most of the final bills in hand.  I can pay cash for the smaller ones if I spread ...
