• Re: What are you looking forward to in 2009?

I'm looking forward to a great year.  My husband and I are going to a conference he has to attend in Scottsdale, AZ in June.  He wants to drive just to soak up some of the Southwest on our way.  Of course we'll have to soak in a lot of the other areas of the country on the way but It sounds like a fun, fun ...

  • Walgreen's Savings

This is my first year using rebates and Register Rewards at Walgreens.  Today when I added my receipt I added up how much I had collected in rebates this last year.  I used rebates for the first time last January.  I was amazed that I had received $330.96 in rebates.  That's a lot of money and I didn't use rebates ...
  • Re: Hurrah for Costco!

I'd love a Trader Joes around here.  My brother has one close to his house and I've stopped by a couple of times while visiting and got some really good stuff.  I really like their cooking sauces.

  • Re: So when do you allow yourself to order out dinner?

We usually go out for special occasions such as birthday's and our anniversary but usually not for days like Valentine's and Mother's Day just because of the crowds.  I do like to go out after church when it has a late start.  Usually we go to the 9 a.m. service and are home by 10:30 and eat about noon.  But around ...

  • Re: Need Advice, Please
I was planning to write a thank you note after I got some note cards.
I think that would be lovely.  I think the art of writing personal cards and letters is going by the wayside and I'm just as guilty as the next guy.  But when I receive a card I realize how nice they are ...

  • Re: Need Advice, Please
Should I send them a small gift? Or should I just not try to give them anything?
I don't think it is necessary to send a gift but I think a handwritten thank you note is always appreciated.  Just express your regrets for being unable to attend the get-together and thanks for the ...

  • Re: Popcorn tins

I have three I picked from the trash when we were pricing items for our church rummage sale.  They weren't in great condition but they had their lids.  They're great for putting ashes from the woodburner stove in because if there are any embers in the ashes when I put the lid on the lack of oxegen prevents any chance of fire ...

  • Re: What is Your Income Situation

I too voted with the majority.  Today is the fifth anniversary of moving into our house and I'll admit the last five years we've spent more than I think we ever did in our life on things for the house like rugs, window treatments, riding lawn mower, landscaping, etc.  We never did charge any of it though.  Well we did charge ...
