Targets advertising seems to be aimed for younger crowd. Wal Mart's family values style of promotion appears to have been effective with a lot of conservative folks.
Neither one of them are close enough to where I live to be a big temptation. Wal mart is just unappealing and depressing, with it's dead housplants and aisles ...

I am not convinced that giving birth and nursing are practical ways of saving money on feminine products ...( think I'll stick with coupons : )

Walgreens here has the pistachios on the shelf. Stop and Shop had them on a free standing cardboard display, with the tear off coupons on the display...maybe check a grocery store if you have one within walking distance? ( I found an unopened nut in the first package today, too... how cheap would that be, to send it in for the free box? : ...

I took seven of the one dollar coupons off the display rack at the grocery store for pistachios...went to Walgreens, where the salt and pepper version is clearance priced for $1.59 - guess they are discontinuing that flavor? Seven boxes for $4.13...I will share this time : )

Certainly living frugally in general doesn't require deprivation. The term 'fast' implies going without. More of a challenge not to be deprived of anything, if one is going without spending money.
