MY conscience has been bothering me lately when I buy groceries. I've been thinking about the fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics in the food that we eat, I wonder how good this is for my families health. I have also been bothered by what I think of as the inhumane way the animals that supply our food is treated. Not to mention the ...

Thanks for the info. I borrowed one of those books from the library. I think I will try the Rhode Island Red. We just have to make an attractive portable coop. Since I live on a city lot I don't want to make the neighbors unhappy by having an unattractive looking coop. I am excited to have a different way to dispose on garden and ...

Well it sounds like you will solve the problem with the latch, so it won't happen again. We have different critters to worry about in my neighborhood the two legged kind, crack and meth addicts. My neighborhood was'nt allways that way but I finally had to install metal security doors on the front and back of the house. I remember the day I ...

My family intrest: I did something kind of cute that might be an inexpensive idea for Dollar Stretchers. For DS preschool, Kindergarten Valentines. We cut a big heart out of poster board and decorated it with scraps of red paper we found around the house. I wrote Dear Friend, Happy Valentines Day in large print with a big marker and my son signed ...

I think we need to boost childrens self esteem. Jails are crowded with inmates that thought so little of themselves that they did'nt say no when offered drugs and they became addicted. There are plenty of teenage moms in that predicament because of low self esteem. I hope that my kid knows I hold in in high regard and he grows up to be a ...

Thanks so much for the linkee! Wow, what a wonderful and productive garden they have for a city lot. I am trully envious of their gardening skills. They should publish a book, I would buy it. They took sustainability to a whole new level.

Garden. I know alot of people do not know how. Gardening is really becoming a lost art, and people look at me like I have two heads when I say I can my produce, except fot the older people who think it's normal. If you don't know how to can or garden ask a senior citizen, you will learn a lot from them and they feel great passing on the ...

I would so buy your eggs too if I could. I read an article in Mother Earth New that showed how much better free range eggs were for you compared with caged , the difference was stunning. Eggs here are 2.69 a dozen. Two years ago I was paying .99 a dozen. I live in a city and the city ordinance will allow you to own 3 chickens. I've been ...

Cheapmarshmallow, I would LOVE to become vegitarian but the smell of bacon cooking in the morning would ruin any chances of that ever happening. The next best thing I could think of would be to just reduce your meat consumption which is what I've been trying to do and maybe eat a couple of meat free meals a week .
I think they have every right to limit what they sell! It's their store!
Yeah, your right it is their store. Thank goodness for the public library, seeing as we live in a democracy they don't censor the media. I really don't like someone deciding for me what I sould see, hear ...
