Sea, I'm always very uplifted by your posts that talk about how you get around disabilities and hardships - I actually find your writings very inspiring!  Please don't stop posting!  Take whatever time you need to rest, but please come back to us soon...Liz.

  • Re: House dilemma/vent...(long)

Cindy is SO right - filling out reams of paperwork for the gov't is no fun and they're so far behind!  At least we've got the paperwork finally turned in.  Now we just hurry up and wait.  The VA is really backed up, but they may have some programs that can lend some help for the folks. We went to the other house ...

Oh, bless you, Treva, that's just what I needed to hear!  I'm having all of those symptoms and worried that it was just me being lazy.  I wake up after a full night's sleep some mornings and feel as if I could roll over and sleep for another 10 hours, and same with the off and on headaches and the stinging pains.  ...

  • Re: House dilemma/vent...(long)

I've also been wondering about senior apartments later.  We could sell the extra house now and invest the money (the hard part - we're not good at saving!), then after the old folks are gone and whenever we're ready, move into one of the several nice senior complexes in our area.  I like the idea of no ...

Thanks for all the replies, ladies.  Yes, I definitely feel overwhelmed and pulled so many ways, thanks for that insight.  I'm normally one who likes to make decisions and move on, but I can see where this one can't be rushed.  I have a hard time talking to dh about it since the house was built by his grandparents - ...

  • House dilemma/vent...(long)

You might remember that we've been taking care of my folks, plus dh's mom for the past few years.  Well, mil died in January, leaving her home to us. Her house was being remodeled to make it handicapped accessible at the time and we let them finish, plus adding some updates, thinking the house would be our retirement home.  ...

The pasta dish looks like what you'd order at a restaurant, really!  And I LOVE the hair color!  Thanks for sharing...Liz.

  • Re: Bad Weather Again...Pray for people to be protected

Spent most of our evening in the basement here in St. Louis, but the worst has blown over.  We are getting a TON of rain now, though, just what we don't need.  Praying for the other states affected...Liz.

  • Re: Spring and Summer Reading

I just finished 'The Girls Who Went Away' by Ann Fessler.  It's about pregnant, unmarried girls in the '50's and how many were forced into adopting their babies out.  The case studies are sad but fascinating.  Not exactly an easy read, but very interesting...Liz.

  • Re: Thrift Stores!!!!!!!!!

bw, the whole name of the breadmaker is Zojirushi.  It makes a 2-pound, rectangular loaf and has two paddles.  It says it also makes cakes and jam, lol.  You can see why I want the manual!  I already have a $5.00 yard sale breadmaker that I love (and whose name is much easier to spell!) but this is supposed to be one of ...
