• Re: Impulse buying

Along with what was mentioned earlier, I'd think that an impulse could also be described as something you substitute for another product. Like if you had egg noodles on your list (88 cents on sale), but you bought a bag of Amish noodles ($2.59 not on sale). I would definitely say that impulse buys are a big hunk of my DH's spending. ...

  • Re: Bed Bath and Beyond's New Cash Refund Policy

I got sidetracked, but I was going to add that BB&B isn't the only store with cruddy policies. Target won't give cash back if you used your debit card - they want to credit your account. I hate that. Last time I did this, I asked for a store card since my DD had to have shoes anyway. What makes me mad is they can take your money ...
nowhere is BB&B's Photo ID Required for All Refunds policy posted either at the register or on the receipt
That's what I don't like. Stores claim it's "policy" but don't have their "policy" posted anywhere.

  • Re: 10/15 Daily Dollar Stretcher

DD doesn't have speech today, so I can save gas money by not driving there (14 miles roundtrip). Otherwise, just doing laundry. Ugh.

  • Re: The cost of a loaf of bread may double.

If the cost of a loaf of bread (name brand, sandwich loaf) goes from $2.49 to $5.00, there will be a lot of people not buying bread, or buying less bread. I already shop at the bread store (Wonder Bread outlet) so I hope my Light Sourdough doesn't go to $2 a loaf!

For those of you with an Aldi, it had large, as in REALLY BIG - beach-ball sized pumpkins for $2.69 today.

  • Re: Walmart....the last straw!
While I am not an early bird, my daughter tells me shopping at WM as well as other stores, when they first open in the morning, is a pleasure.
I agree. I always go before 9 a.m. and it really isn't that bad. Most ill-behaved children should be in school LOL.
I'm going to start paying more attention to what's missing, but you're right; there are some things you just don't see any more.
I wonder if it's the cost. Specifically asparagus - it's $3-$4 a pound here and usually not on sale unless it's in season. Canned is yucky ...
