  • Re: Vinegar, rice, how to make

I don't know if it's Kosher or not, but Super Wal-Mart sells rice vinegar. It's less expensive than it is at regular grocery stores. I buy my rice vinegar there to save money, but I don't keep Kosher. I'm not Jewish. It might be worth your while to check it out. Best of luck to you. Needlepoint142

  • Re: Where do you shop for Groceries?

I try to grocery shop once a week at Harris Teeter. I use my store card which gets me the special prices each week. I watch their sales and I use my coupons there which are doubled. I like their policy on refunds. I can get rainchecks at Harris Teeter. I paid $23.00 for a lamb roast that was too tough to eat. I will be getting a $46.00 refund ...

  • Re: Coupon organizing

My coupon caddy is not as large as yours. Mine is a mini plastic file folder that came from an office supply store. It was given to me by a former friend in 2003. Mom wrote the items on the tabs. I mostly deal with Harris Teeter & they double coupons. I also ask for rainchecks when they run out of specials. I combine the weekly specials with ...

  • Re: To Needlepoint

If you'd please point me in the direction of some urls that have avatars, I can look at them. I was without electricity from 7:30 AM Saturday until 7:45 PM Saturday. I'm in a totally electric house and that means no running water and no heat. The good news is that I did not lose my food in the freezer or fridge !!! Please bear with me as ...

  • Do You Bake Your Own Bread?

Do you bake your own bread? Does it really help you to save money ? Yes, I know all about how homemade bread is fresher and has fewer additives.

  • Re: Landline or Cell Phone?

I have a landline. I recently switched from having AT & T as my long distance carrier to Verizon's unlimited calling plan. My long distance calls increased the end of January when Mom had a heart attack and a stroke. My 87 year old aunt calls me daily and I call her. I also have one of those Jitterbug cell phones that Mom got me this past ...

  • Re: Why Do We Stretch Dollars, Count the Pennies and Scrape the Bottom of the Barrell?

I have to pay Mom's nursing home bill each month. I also have to deal with Dominion Virginia Power which is never the same amount two months running. By being frugal and watching sales and making my grocery list mostly from the weekly specials, I can maintain a decent standard of living. I combine coupons for groceries with what's on sale ...

  • Hello

Several of you know me from other forums. I live in Virginia. Until recently I was the caretaker of my elderly Mother. Yes, I really do needlepoint. I even design things for myself or I used to. I took a class many years ago in designing your house in counted cross stitch. I'd like to stitch my design/chart of my house in needlepoint in the ...
