I did my taxes and efiled them. (even if the irs won't look at them until the 30th) Bathed the dog. Did bills. Shopped for cars online for ds#2 to look at this weekend. Set in place one pair of kitchen cabinets that i could handle myself. (last weekend dh and I laid new carpeting in the utility room and the kitchen.)

  • Re: Your Winter Gas/Electric Bill???

$128 for electricity but for heat we have wood. Exception is ds#2 has a electric heater that looks like a little wood stove in his bedroom and uses it at night only. He is gone all day at work. I haven't used any oil backup yet this year, and our natural gas connection hasnt been connected anything yet to use. No no heat expense yet.

  • Re: Christmas Countdown, Week 4

Ds#2 is having a fit that he has to leave his house to go have Christmas at his bro's. Dh doesn't like it either but knows enough to keep quiet and roll with it. I am afraid ds#2 is going to cause a squabble over Christmas plans. (He and his bro's wife argue frequently and it causes much drama. We just got over the last drama I ...

  • Re: Are you tired of those media articles "Save money in x easy Steps"?

[quote user="LNBee in NC"]Many many moons ago there was an article in one of those sensationalist weekly rags called "How to Save $2,000 a Year."  My all time favorite suggestion - wash your own windows instead of hiring someone.  That still cracks me up to this day.  And no, I didn't buy the newspaper.  ...
