• Re: How My Shopping Helps The Community Programs Without Hurting My Budget

Virginia Needlewoman, how do you link your MVP card tot he animal shelter? I'd love to do this with mine, but no one's ever mentioned to me that you could link the card to anything until now. I wonder if I can do the same thing with my Safeway card? Anyone know?

Hi, I'm new to the forum....I just got my new "budget" rates for LP gas and I about died. I kinda knew it was coming but was hoping I was wrong. My monthly budget went from $200 to $425 a month. I'm renting the house - so my options are limited. And I just renewed my lease for another ...

• Re: Shopping Strategies!

Very interesting to read everyone replies! I love getting new ideas! Personally, I only shop the sales flyers for the 4 stores in my area once per week. We tend to buy our produce and meat from one particular store due to the quality so if that one store doesn't have a good deal on meat - we don't buy meat that week. ...

• Re: "Time Warp Wives"-- a neat article

That is a neat article. I could see doing it as a hobby, but full-time? That's a little oddball, imho. I think this quote from the article is interesting: "We aren't friendly with anyone who doesn't share our love of the Forties. Some people might think I am hiding my head in the sand, harking back to an age that is ...

• How My Shopping Helps The Community Programs Without Hurting My Budget

I save the Boxtops & Campbell labels for a nurse at Mom's nursing home. The labels and the Boxtops go to get stuff for one of the local schools where I live. It's a simple matter for me to put them in a zippered plastic bag. I linked my Food Lion MVP card to the animal shelter where Aurora was when I adopted her. I linked my VIC card ...

• Re: Shopping Challenge: School Supplies

The York County Public Library was accepting school supplies for overdue library fines. They were to be donated to local schools. At least 2 of the 3 TV stations do school supply programs. K-mart works with one TV station. Farm Fresh works with another TV station in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News viewing area. Since I do not have kids I ...
• Re: Do You Cook With Bisquick or Homemade Baking Mix?

I don't use either really. We don't really eat biscuits here, DH is not a big fan of them. What else is it used for? I use pancake mix though for when I make pancakes. I think the only thing I have ever made with Bisquik is the classic coffee cake recipe-I used to make it in college periodically for my friends . . ...
