    Hooray for Freecycle!

It seems like my husband wears the same three or four shirts over and over again. Today we got a sack of clothes from Freecycle, and nearly everything in it fit him and he liked! There was a wool sweater, several casual button-up shirts, two dress shirts, several jeans, dress pants, cargo pants, corduroys - and everything in good condition. I am THRILLED!

    Party!!!

Wow, sounds like you hit the jackpot! Or your husband did, anyway. I think freecycle is the best thing the internet has made possible in a long time.

I love freecycle myself.  I have gotten a lot of things from there, and given a lot away too.  Only trouble I have had is when I am trying to give stuff away, like baby stuff... i want it to go to someone who actually NEEDS it.  and i've had people get mad at me for picking someone else to give something to.  but overall, it's a great idea.   Have stuff hanging around the house that you don't know what to do with....  good to know you can pass it on to someone who can use it.  LOL!

     That's awesome!

I freecycle as well.  I have gotten some items from other people and have given some things away.  My biggest issue with people on freecycle is they really want to take "free" to the limit.  I can't tell you how many have wanted me to drive 15+ miles to deliver something I'm giving them.  Uh no, I'm giving it to you, you pick it up from me. lol

    Yay!!

I never seem to be able to e-mail the giver before someone else nabs it or I can't get our schedule to cooperate for a pick up.

Freecycling can be frustrating in that aspect, Brandy. I've noticed that my "luck" has improved the longer I'm on my Freecycle group, because people have learned that I'm good to deal with - prompt, will coordinate with schedules, will drive to pick-up things, will hold items for some people.  It would be much harder to Freecycle if you don't drive.

Absolutely. I have to count on my husband for this and his schedule is open seven days a week for work.

Absolutely as Brandy & Joyous say, If you don't drive, Free-Cycle is nearly useless.  I take taxis with taxi scrip, but they are only good within City limits, & their trunks are hardly large enough to hold smoething I would love to Freecycle -- wood planks for putting up as shelves at the 6' wainscotting level in my apt.  So, I've never used it.  Yours in Him, Deb

I have tried to use freecycle many times and I can't understand how it works. I use Craigslist instead.  On Freecycle, I can't see any of the listed stuff. If you can't see it, what good is it?  Craigslist is much more user friendly.
