4givennotperfect:I want to apologize for misspelling Chanukah in my earlier post. Hope I didn't offend anyone. Even when being kind one must be diligent.
Don't worry about it. There's not one, single, absolutely correct way to spell Chanukah - which in Hebrew is spelled חנוכה (assuming that shows up right) - (or Hannukah, or Chanuka, or Hanuka.... you get the idea) - at least not in English. Hebrew uses a different alphabet, so all words written in English have to be transliterated - spelled as closely as possible to the actual pronunciation. The first sound of Chanukah is a Germanic "ch", with a gutteral sound to it (almost like you're going to spit) that doesn't exist in English - and since it doesn't exist in English, the letter(s) to spell it don't really exist either.
But thanks anyway!
