Proctor and Gamble "Year of Savings" coupons offer

Proctor and Gamble is starting a "Year of Savings" rebate offer which starts today. They're calling it a rebate, but really it's a coupon offer to get $120 of P&G brand coupons. The website is www.pgeverydaysolutions.com/coupons-yearofsavings. You have to purchase $50 worth of P&G products between 14 Dec 2008 (today) and 31 January 2009. You mail in the original receipts with the P&G items and costs circled, and mail it in with a form. I received my form both by mail and in today's P&G coupon insert in the newspaper. I don't think I'll take advantage of this just because I don't use lots of P&G brand items, but if someone did, this might be a good way to get coupons that will probably be difficult to get otherwise. Just be sure you don't want your original receipts for something else. You might either ask for duplicate original receipts at the register, or you might have the P&G items ring up separately . . .

That looks really cool. I passed it on to my roommate. I think she'd do it.

Actually, if you buy Duracell Batteries, it is easy to spend the required $50.00 in a hurry. By the time you get the different size batteries, you have spent a bundle even using the coupons.

I may take advantage of it. I use Bounce and Cheer in addition to the batteries.

Stocking up on Prilosec OTC, you could spend 50 dollars in 1 trip if you really wanted to do this. That is, if anyone in your house uses Pirlosec. Iams pet foods, also.

Be careful, too- P&G recently sold Folgers coffee and Thermacare heating pads, so those won't count for this. Wink

I'll have to look for this. I use some Proctor and Gamble items so this may be worth it to me.

Dear All, I thought about it carefully, but am giving it a pass.  While there are coupons in the circular for money off the products, that only means that if you only buy the P&G items in one shopping trip, you'll actually have to pay more than $50 to get the $50 total.  Worse, what if the coupons aren't for any higher value than the ones they already circulate in teh papers?  What if the expiratiion dates aren't logner?  THey shuold have advertised exactly what they are offering in the return coupons, so we could make an intelligent deicision.  Yours in Him, Deb

My understanding is that you don't have to spend the $50 worth of P&G items on one receipt.

I hope not but it's possible for me to do if I have the funds to put to stocking.

Thanks for the great information. This is something I will definitely do. I can spend $50.00 at Sam's on the Charmin, Bounty, and Gain. Something I was scheduled to do before the end of January anyways. I use a lot of P&G products and what I don't use, my friends will. I just told my mother about this and she is going to do this as well. As we use different products, we will be able to double up on the coupons for those items.  For example, she can have my Tide coupons and I will take her Gain coupons. My neice will use the Pampers coupons from both of us.  I love that their web page tells you what amounts and how many coupons for each of their products. Thanks again for helping my family stretch the money to take care of everyone. Great find!

For those who want to preview the coupons, the page can be found on the P&G site.
