    thedailyplate.com - calorie counter+ and its free

This is not a new website, so you may have heard of it or even use it. I was looking up caloric amounts today because I am starting to count them & came across this site. Its pretty fabulous. What I like is that it tells you how many calories you burn from even the most mundane activities--like eating or watching tv! lol... It links up with livestrong.com, which is Lance Armstrongs website with lots of health info.

I've not heard of this one, but I have heard of sparkpeople.com which is also free.  It's good to know since many will set a New Year's resolution to lose weight!  And free is always nice!

I'd not heard of spark.com, so I signed up to check it out. From what I've seen, I like thedailyplate.com better.

Spark puts meal plans on there that are absolutely ridiculous and not budget friendly. They are also not easy to change.

I will give them both some more time to see which I like better.

I have mine set to not show the meal plan and I just insert what I choose to eat and it does the calculation for me.  I think there's a button near the bottom of the page or something where you can change that.

Yeah I did that, then I saw that you can do a grocery list. So, I thought that was cool. Turns out--they want you to eat *their* food. I figured it would be like the tool on allrecipes.com (among other sites) where you can do it all on your own.

No biggie. I think the main point it to do the calorie tracker. I've got that going, so I'm good to go!
