Easy Way to Clean Grimy metal cookie cutters

I got down my shoebox full of metal cookie cutters that haven't been used in years, and I guess I didn't wash them the last time I used them because they were grimy looking. I really wasn't looking forward to brushing out every little knook and cranny on them, I'm not that fond of washing dishes.  So I boiled them in a pot of soapy water and now they are spotless! Now all I have to do is rinse them and let them dry.  I couldn't have gotten them that clean if I had done them by hand. And the boiling water sanitized them to boot.  I'm patting myself on the back here, saving myself a bunch of time.   Big Smile Edey

Don't you just love it when things turn out like that? Big Smile

I wouldn't want to stand and work over every little crook in a batch of cookie cutters, either.

I would if I could clean my grimy metal burner stands that way. I have a propone stove.

I love when that happens! My dad taught me about boiling things clean when I was a kid. Works profouondly well.

Edey, isn't that a great way to clean? I use a little laundry soap to boil things clean. It helps get baked-on grease off of anything, or burnt-on gunk. Glad you found a good solution.
