    Re: Natural remedies question

Hi ... I brew tea often, but believe that the original recipe was using thyme that was freshly grown, then dried on the stalk and stored in this fashion. When the recipe referred to "one cup of the dried thyme herb", it was referring to one cup of dry herb that was on the stalk (like fresh/dried rosemary and sage). Fresh herbs would make a better product, but good quality dry herbs would work well, too. Hope that helps ... Big Smile

Joyous, glad the lemonade worked for you...I've told everybody about it, but nobody seems to beleive me...they rather swallow some drugs I guess...not only does it help ones throat but it also helps you all over, cause it has all that Vitamin C in it...

I have no idea how long I've been using it....I guess somewhere along the line I musta stumbled across something on it...Just seems, I been using it forever...

I like to drink hot tea with honey and lemon and a splash of bourbon when I'm sick. It helps me to sleep. Of course, I can't drive after I've made this for medicinal purposes.

I have seen horehound candy drops for sale at Cracker Barrel. I've heard it is good for coughs.

My gramma's cold remedy was peppermint tea, with lemon juice and honey.  The peppermint settled your stomach, the lemon juice stripped the guck out of your throat, and the honey soothed a cough.

It helps a LOT....I still do that today.
