I also wanted to add... Often you can find decent mattress sets at Sams Club for a good price. I got a nice twin Serta mattress set w/ frame (which adjusts to whatever size you want) for less than $300 right when I got out of high school. They usuaully have mattresses there but not always a large selection. But it's worth looking into.
