    My Compact Home

Yesterday, I found the photos I took when the travel trailer was brought in. I thought I would share a few shots with those of you who have read my posts on dealing with organising and living in here.

The trailer and our little empress...

This photo is of the kitchen and bunk area...

The bunk area AKA my sons' bedroom...

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. I can see why you'd have organization problems. Vacationing in a travel trailer is much different from living in one.:)

I don't have any photos of the mess I have now but I moved a black plastic shelf in against the table. Those doors between the bunk area and fridge is the pantry and the table benches are where I store food.

Here is the cooking area of the kitchen that I am making so much peace with, the stove is out of shot but the oven is that black splotch at the edge of the photo.  What is shown is the entirety of my counter space. And that dear friends is THE coffee pot that inspires my posts here, lol.

The rest of this photo shows the living room with the couch out of of the picture off to the side and that's the master bedroom.

My goodness gracious, Brandy!  i am amazed that you can function in such a small area!  My studio is far larger than is your trailer!  G-d bless you, & may He grant you a new home during the Summer as I pray every day, &, as you pointed out to me, May all the victims of Katrina & Rita find permanent housing soon!

It's too bad you weren't closer, I'd be tempted to trade with you! The TT wouldn't be so bad for one person.

    Re: My Compact Home

Whoswho, the photos are from when we first moved in. We have somehow accumulated a ton of junk in a short time and you should see it now!

Oh wait no, you will never see the mess I live in as it's my deep dark secret. LOL! Since we are still here, I am actually tossing stuff out. Some things are kept just because we salvaged it and it was part of our lives so it's hard to toss even if we don't use it or need it. Then well meaning people have given us things to help us and it's really just clutter...like tons of gifts for my kids at Christmas. Where is that supposed to go so that neat place in the living room where the metal shelf is has five boxes of toys crammed around it now and there are some things under the table and in front of the shelf next to the table. But I am gradually seeing a little more order.

And then we spread out into an old RV which is much smaller than the trailer and has no operating kitchen or bathroom. It makes for some extra living space though.

My husband and I have said that if it were just the two of us we could be content in the TT. I agree with him, particularly if we practiced some simple living.

    Re: My Compact Home

I have daydreamed about living in one, to be honest. It would be so much easier to deal with than a whole house just for one person. Just think of the dusting I wouldn't have to do!

We used to own a motor home that I really loved, but two weeks was the most we stayed in it at a time.

Like Pat, I've daydreamed of owning a TT.  I can't drive, but they are immobile (to the best of my understandign) once built on a foundazgtion, in any event.  I imagine being able to have a garden, getting a plot large enough for it.  I cannot imagine ever being able to own any other "real estfate."
