What Are YOUR Favorite Holiday movies??????
I LOVE the Holidays....and love holiday movies......please tell me about YOUR favorite Holiday movies.
I think one of my all time favs would be Prancer, the first one, with Sam Elliot, its a really cute story. Then of course Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation! For adults only, Bad Santa....yes, really a naughty, raunchy movie, but the story its self had a nice message....
Just watched a new one, The Christmas Cottage, about Thomas Kinkaid, a VERY good movie.....So, please tell me YOUR favorites!

Re: What Are YOUR Favorite Holiday movies??????
I love A Christmas Story (even though DB can't stand it). It normally runs in the background on Christmas Day when they have it on marathon. White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause, Elf (omg that movie is hilarious). And yes, I love Bad Santa, it cracks me up every time I watch it. We always watch The Nightmare Before Christmas around the holidays, too.
Then there's the TV specials. Oh there's so many favorites I probably can't list them all. Mickey's Christmas Carol, The Grinch, Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph, the original Frosty. My all time favorite is The Year Without a Santa Claus. I still watch it every year, even if it is old-school claymation.
I think I'm the only person who can't stand Its a Wonderful Life. Well, DB doesn't like it either.

Me too!! That is such a funny, cute movie. "You'll shoot your eye out!"
I also love The Nativity. I think the writers did a good job of portraying the scorn that Mary must have faced when she turned up pregnant and unmarried. I also think they made Joseph seem like a true gentleman, taking care of Mary even though he could have "put her away", as the Bible says.

Oh, yes! Elf and Christmas story....just loved Ralphie! Ya know, I never did watch the Nativity....I wanted to rent it last year and no one wanted to watch it with me, LOL! I really should rent it for the weekend, as the boys will be all out deerhunting, and I will be home potty training the new puppy!

Re: What Are YOUR Favorite Holiday movies??????
This may sound silly, but one of my all time favorites is Charlie Brown's Christmas. It may not be a movie as such, but as TV specials go, I don't think it can be beat. I watched it midsummer this year and it was still good! Ok, for real movies, the classic Christmas Carol. I prefer the version with George C. Scott. After that I like Miracle on 34th Street and then The Homecoming.

Re: What Are YOUR Favorite Holiday movies??????
CarrieAnne, Thanks for mentioning "The Christmas Cottage". I'll have to find that one and watch it. I love true stories.
I love "Miracle on 34th Streeth". One of my all time favorites is "It's a Wonderful Life". I still get teary eyed, after all these years, when the bell rings at the end of the movie. lol I also love Bing Crosby's "White Christmas". I also love "Elf". I think it's one of the cutest. I'm with Pat in loving "A Charlie Brown Christmas". I always look forward to the Charlie Brown holiday shows. I think this would fit in the same genre, "Frosty the Snowman". I still adore that one! I loved "Rudolph" growing up, but that screech when his nose lights up has got to go!

I'm with you Pat! #1 Charlie Brown Christmas (LOVE Linus on the piano..Oh Christmas Tree!)
# Home Alone #1 and #2 (#3 not so much)
Christmas Vacation
Funny Farm with Chevy Chase , not really a Christmas movie, but Christmassy at the end, so it works for me.
I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them right now.

Oh yeah, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, not a movie, but long enough for my
attention span. I liked the old version with the original felt animated animals more than the new computer animated verstion.
I like everyone (almost) better the old way, though. Christmas especially!

Re: What Are YOUR Favorite Holiday movies??????
Hands down, my favorite is "It's a Wonderful Life." A Christmas Story is a very close second though. As far as the TV specials, my favorite is "The Year Without a Santa Claus," then "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

White Christmas, A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause (all of them) and the original A Christmas Carol. Oh let's face it ...I love all the Christmas shows just some more than ever.
