I haven't been on fragrance.com lately so I don't know what their prices are. You might check them...they usually are less expensive than the stores and carry a great selection.  Is there a bath oil in that fragrance?  My late mother loved Lauder perfumes but thought them too strong, so she would purchase a bottle of their bath oil and mix it with an unscented hand lotion to tame the fragrance. Might work for a nail tech...

If Pony out of the question then I suggest a nice gift certicate for dinner at a resturant she mentioned .. or a gift set to pamper herself

If she likes to bake cakes, why not put together a combination of basics? A small bottle of vanilla, some baking chocolate, baking powder (the kind without aluminum) and so on. Arrange it in a cake pan or a basket, maybe with a cheerful kitchen towel to nestle it in.

Maybe a gift certificate to a bookshop, either bricks-and-mortar or online, with a note that this is for a special cookbook she might like (or anything else, for that matter). Another option might be a magazine subscription like Gourmet or Bon Appetit, or a Martha Stewart one on food/baking.

I get a kick out of looking at old, old cookbooks. There are lots listed on Amazon.com - for example, if you could locate an old copy of Fannie Farmer's Cookbook, it makes for great, nostalgic reading.

Hi ... I think a gift certificate to a book store would be a wonderful gift, along with a little treat or a heart-felt card - she would be able to purchase any book her heart desired. As for the Pony ... no ponies as gifts this year.

You are ultra generous.  I don't get my hair dresser a thing.  I don't tip either and I still get great service.  She works in a little town and they don't seem to follow the big city rules.

Anyway, if you live in a cold climate, how about a ice breaker with a brush attachment and a pit attached.  This would be very much appreciated on cold mornings.

An apron would be a nice touch, either bought (good luck!) or homemade.  Aprons for 'Real Cooks' are hard to find, which is why they're so welcomed...Liz
