    dishsoap

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I go to the local dollar store and one time--much to my regret-- I bought the dishsoap. I figured hey it's a buck I'll try it. BIG MISTAKE. I used more than I would have had I bought another brand. I use Ajax and can get a huge bottle for 2.27. I t works great and I use less. You have to watch what you buy even if it's only a buck

currently owe $10047. pay $523.50 every month ticker not working right

I agree. I dislike the dollar store brands of dish soap and I have tried more than one. If you still have it, you might want to try it as a cleaner in your home and for outdoor items. It works well on the plastic lawn chairs, the garbage can and dog houses.

I agree! My dollar store is great but for the first time I bought dishsoap and their version of comet. Either works well.  1/4 cup of dishsoap compared to a little bit of palmolive. Since I can get palmolive for $2 on sale all the time, it is definitely a better buy. I use the cleaner for the bathtub and it gets dirtier faster than scrubbing with my reg. comet. It was 2 for $1 but off to the food bank it goes!

I don't like dollar store dish liquid, either and Aldi's is no better, tho I buy most everything else there.  Palmolive's one of the few brand-name things I buy.  I usually buy several of the Palmolives when they go on coupon at Walgreens...Liz

Have you tried Ajax dish soap?  It's considerably more in teh bottle & it goes on sale every 8 weeks at Walgreens (here), & the price is usually $1 as compared to 89cents for the Palmolive (with the coupons).

It seems like I tried it a while back - I have to be careful as some soaps leave my dishes tasting soapy, at least to dh, and most of them are too strong-smelling for my nose. Maybe I'll give it a try again and see if it seems less perfume-y, thanks for the tip...Liz

I don't like the dish soap from the dollar stores or Aldi either. It takes more and to me that is not saving me any money. I like Ajax, Polmolive or somwtimes I buy Dawn. Whichever is lowest priced at the time. They all work well.

Deb, an update!  I went to WG last week to pick up some Palmolive and they were out.  The man that was filling the shelves pointed out that the Ajax was not only on sale for .79, but the bottle was a new size, 18 oz., up from 16 oz.  So I bought three bottles and so far we love it!  I'm using the new Grapefruit 'flavor' with Bleach Alternative right now - also bought the Lemon and Antibacterial Orange.

Thanks for pointing out the value so that I'd retry it - I'm very pleased with it...Liz

My husband loves the smell of Ajax's grapefruit while I like Palmolive's aromatherapy with lavender and ylang ylang. I find Palmolive to be kinder to my hands so I purchase it most often.

Thanks for the info on Ajax! I generally only buy Dawn (can get on sale, plus have coupons) - since I've had bad luck with off-brands. It's good to know there are other brands that work just as good and can be cheaper.
