I have to run everything by my doctor before I can take any new vitamin or medicine because I have so darned many allergies to medications. I've come very close to dying in the past from allergic reactions to medications.

The last time she wanted me to start taking something for a low thyroid, I was terrified to start taking it. Ultimately, I did start the medication, but she did fuss at me for dragging my feet.Wink

I will ask her about the flaxseed oil when I see her again in February.

I have two 40's babies, I m very active and don't feel old at all.  For years I thought I was obese, due to my health club saying at 141 lbs and 5'2" I was at 26 BMI.  Last week weighed myself on a friend's scale, it had BMI on, mine was 15.9!  I am relieved I don't have to worry about weight, my doctor always says I'm fined, it's off for short people.

I can go out today and run a 5K, or go skiing on the blacks, or stay up late.  I listen to the radio with my kids, and keep up on some trends.  My blood pressure is low, usually about 122/65.

Two ways I know I'm older- it's easier to nurse these babies, gravity has a few good effects!  and sometimes I had to get out a knife and pound on the itty bitty baby food lids to open them.  If that's the worst I have to deal with, I'm very happy.

Dh is on blood pressure meds, he has more physical signs of aging, I think.   He is more tired.

I hope I have lots more years, you never know, but in the meantime I feel very healthy and young at heart.

VNW, I've been on synthoid for 12 yeaars, the only bother is not eating for an hour, although I do have coffee with creamer,  probably not supposed  to, but I have for years, decaf with coffemate flavored creamer.

    I'd say I feel about...35 years and 10 months. :-)

Interestingly, though, most of my friends (at least those who live here in New Jersey) tend to be older than me. I hang out with people in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s and think of them as my peers. I think part of the reason is that many people my age (including my husband's two siblings and some friends from college) are now parents of young children, and that is a big part of their lives. So I don't quite feel like I have as much in common with them as with those who have no kids or whose kids are already grown.

I am 43 and sometimes feel 103 but most times I feel like about 33.    Having kids late takes a toll on the old fiqure.  especially big babies!

more twinges and not as flexible as before but will work on it!   alot more colds and less sleep lol.   but basically in good shape.  always had good blood pressure.

Re: How Old Do You Feel?

I'm 58 and pretty much feel the same when I was 38 and 48, but definitely changed from 28. I learned a lot at the U. of Hard Knocks, going through a divorce, having to move back home with my mother at age 34 (definitely embarrassing but the cheapest way to save the down payment for a house).

My opinions are much firmer now than then - experience allows one to see through the nonsense that others often spout.

I'm in good physical condition, a touch of arthritis but nothing serious and plan to buy a motorcycle soon. Talking with a motorcycle salesman I told him I hadn't ridden one since 1976 and he asked why so long. I told him that responsibilities got in the way. Also, it was the heavy traffic in the area where we used to live, sitting on a stationary motorcycle in the hot summer sun stuck in traffic is not fun. I still like the '60s music though!

I suppose, at 26, I really shouldn't talk :) Although I feel blessed and happy, with a wonderful family and a fulfilling career, so I guess I'm just as old as I'm supposed to be!

Physically, I've lost about 80 pounds, although courtesy of my 10 pound son, I'm never going to wear a bikini :)

I'm 55 and most days feel much younger.  I notice most that I get tired much easier.  Not as much stamina.  I am thankful for relatively good health.  My issues are limited so far to some mild allergies and osteoporosis -- recently diagnosed so I am trying to correct with supplements.  I do not want to begin the osteo drugs, except as a last resort because the side effects sound grim.

Several years ago I asked my mother (who is now 86) if she felt any different than she did when she was young.  Her answer?  "I don't feel any different I just hurt in more places when I get up in the morning!"

Because medications for allergies and asthma were primitive when I was young, I feel much better at 55 than I did at 25 or 30.  Once I discovered the benefits of exercise at 32, my life changed for the better and I am stronger by far than I was when young.   My weight is up a little since I got broadband--and a broad butt!!--and that drags me down, but cuz insists on ordering in fast food and it's a luxury item for me.

The change of life has been a blessing, except for the cholesterol increase.  Don't miss the raging hormones a bit.  In this respect, as well, older is better.

I too am fast approaching the half century mark and yes, I feel old! LOL  I find myself thinking more about simple childhood days and the way life used to be.

It seems that even technology has out paced me, I can't keep up with all the new fangled gadgets coming out on the market and being advertised as a "must have" item every few weeks or so. Life may be easier nowadays but it sure seems alot more complicated and stressful if you ask me.  I guess even my way of thinking is getting old! Stick out tongue

Good question, I enjoyed reading others replies!
