Dear All, Yesterday's mail included the so-late-canceled August check to my personal physician, Peter.  I was able to get off this AM August & Sept packets of medical expenses claims, with 2 covering letters from Peter.  One said that it was all his fault that his staff mislaid the check.  The other said that he charges me $600/mo, & that I've been seeing him since 2001.  (BTW, there's been inflation in that fee!)  I didn't write a cover letter because the used-to-be-lawyer in me knows that if you come across too smart when dealing with public benefits, they think that you are undeserving because you SEEM to be able to work.

I have not read this thread for a few days. I am happy tohear your good news. I think that you staying on food stamps is a good thing. You enjoy cooking so much. It is good for you to cook for yourself.

Dear All, I received in yesterday's mail, not distributed until after my aide left at 5PM, notice from the CA State Office of the Administrative Law Judge of the date & time of my hearing (11/4, afternoon).  Fortunately, I can make it -- it's almost impossible to get dates changed.  Especially since it's obvious that neither teh ALJ's office nor the local Food Stamps office read the materials that I sent to them, proving that I had paid my personal physician, Peter,$600 in each month, but that the whole matter arose due to his office's failure to cash the checks timely.  (He wrote such a letter for me.)  I guess it is because of the State budget cuts that nobody read anything.  I am supposed to be able to obtain the SF Food Stamps material that they are filing for the hearing, within 2 business days of the hearing date.  I fully expect to see the materials that I sent to them front & center therein.  Ah, well, this is just bureaucratic hassle, nothing to worry about at all at this point.  Yours in Him,Deb
