    What Are They Learning?

For those of us still schooling, what topics are you covering this week?

I have no homeschoolers, but have talked with a lady at hubby's office that homeschools her 5 kids.  She is looking for extra curricular classes for summer for her 3 daughters(10, 11, and 13).  I am considering teaching cooking, gardening, sewing, embroidery and crochet for a start.  We are still in the talking stages though.  Hope it's okay I tossed this in here.  : )

    Re: What Are They Learning?

Some homeschool forums can be exclusive and leave those who work with homeschoolers or teach other people's children in a homeschool setting out. I don't think that's a very fair thing to do.  So if I have a say in it then you are more than welcome in this folder.

I have taught other people's children beside my own and am very interested in hearing more if you decide to offer some classes.

I don't know much about forums, but I do know about very exclusive HS support groups. I'm into inclusiveness myself!  I also think that if anyone is a parent, essentially they "homeschool" on some level.  We can all relate to it, whether it be teaching them to cook, or grocery shop or good spending habits.  Just had to throw my 2 cents in.Stick out tongue

We are still doing our normal classes. DD  is learning Japanese and decided she wanted to follow the Japanese school calendar, so she finished 8th grade on a Friday, and started 9th the following Monday. She gets her first break after July 13. I was not quite prepared for that, so the first few weeks were more fly by the seat of the pants, than pre-planned.

That's interesting, Shan. Please keep us posted on your daughter's studies.
