I don't mind at all since my access to the internet is limited at this time.

After posting that it was perfectly acceptable for Esiders to beging this post as I had much on my plate, I completely forgot that it was done and started a new one. So I am moving the few posts from it to here to combine the tracking.

Thank you to Tracy for pointing this out and perhaps she can be as keen on spotting where I left my tired brain, LOL!

    Re: September Budget

My Quicken budget has an amount of $3,382 for expected expenses this month.

    Our expenses so far:

    Expenses - Sep 2008     9/1/2008 through 9/07/2008

     Auto 39.67
     Misc 1.00
     OVERALL TOTAL 40.67

This does not include spending for food and clothes as those things came out of cash. I am not tracking our cash expenses with Quicken.

    Re: September Budget

Here's my budget so far....  It'll be a wonder to see if we can make it on this this month!

    rent 745.00
    electricity 74.00
    fees 7.66
    gas (house) 60.00
    gas (car) 150.00
    phone/dsl 49.64
    car payment 284.00
    insurance (car, renters, life) 130.00
    food/household/pet/hba 300.00
    entertainment 20.00
    laundry 20.00
    dentist 65.00
    tuition 358.00
    books/field trips/fundraisers 20.00

The dentist line item is new, b/c I have a cavity!!!  UGH!!!!  LOL  I haven't had any problems with my teeth since my DD was born 4 years ago; the dentist blamed my breastfeeding and bad genetics on my splitting open a back tooth and needing a root canal.  That was just a freak accident.  This one... I dunno.  Maybe I just didn't floss well at that one tooth!

I actually don't have to pay that much on the tuition b/c DD's dad paid me the residual child support he owed and I was able to pay more last month (registration fees, etc.), so I know I already have a credit in place.  I may just pay $300 and do $350 each month after that.

Entertainment budget is low, but DH bought a bunch of $3 and $4 DVDs during the Labor Day sales.  DD has discovered that she likes The Neverending Story and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!  LOL  Plus, network t.v. has started up again.  I doubt we'll have much need to go out and spend -- maybe just a meal out for a treat!

We have two Sept budgets going- Brandy, can you combine?

Just reporting I paid some bills today, two credit cards, and $15 towards the $800 Sears bill that is interest free for a year, that was the water heater.  It's a baby step. I have paid the mortgage, and we are charging all our gas, and charged the $418 car bill today.  We had not picked up the car for 9 days, it was a lot of money on the card, and dh got our 1986 one working, switched the insurance for a month. He is paying about $50 a day for his commute this week, but gets $93 back for expenses for it.

I was glad to pay a few things, and we had paid the mortgage.  Need to write up the budget.

    Re: September Budget

This is our last month before our new mortgage kicks in. Our new mortgage will be about $220 more a month, to account for an increase in property taxes and a slightly higher mortgage. But this is for September, as we have the current bills coming in:

    Mortgage/taxes/ins: $1000

    Tuition/daycare/education fees: $1200

    Electric: $115

    Gas: $75

    Garbage: $16.50

    Phone: $32

    Cells: $69

    Cable/internet: $115

    Newspaper: $10

    Life Ins: $150

    Entertainment/eating out: $300

    Personal: $100

Clothing: $200 (looking for needed winter items and school clothes)

    Credit cards: ZERO!

    Groceries: $400

    Supplies: $100

    Gasoline: $350

    Total expenses: $4232.50

Yikes! This will be a more expensive month and tighter at the end. I increased supplies, clothing and entertainment as we have set plans this month which need a baby sitter and eating out and I still need a few items of clothing for the boys and my husband for school. Supplies increased from $75 to $100 just because we seem to be spending closer to $100 a month so I made the adjustment. I need to track my husband's ATM spending a little more closely as I found a couple of receipts for the hardware store. Needed items but he also tends to "throw" a few extra things in. As if I have never done that myself, LOL. Gas I held steady but hope it actually comes in less. Same with groceries.

As a side note, I don't put savings or church/charity down as those come right out of our checks the first of the month. Same with health insurance and retirement. Don't even have to think about those since they are auto-deducted before I get my paycheck.

     Our budget so far-

    Have paid

    mortgage $1359

    credit cards $528

    home equity $350

heat $242, our new budget amount, eek.

    medical $50 dentsit

     $20 one doctor-orthopedic for dd

    $10 another doctor- dh

water heater payments to Sears $45

    gifts $35.57

    education $34, field trips, etc

    charity $30

Groce-non food, cleaners and rings and lids- $20

    Total spent so far

     $2,373

    Income so far

    dh income $1300

    $84 my unemployment

$200 my mil is sending towards rent

$394 expensechecks in, for mileage, not really income, but deposits

    total deposited

     $1,978

    Bills to pay-

    electric

    auto insurance

two more little checks to church

So, not doing terrible.  Dh is getting his pay now, and he kept out the money for his rent, $600 this month.  The landlord gave him a $100 discount.  I think dh will just use th extra $100 towards gas.  I am hoping my friend pays me for babysitting, I do need to find another job.

I still have a few hundred in the bank, although my cushion is melting like the glaciers.
