NOT leaving the house today, except for getting the mail. My body is saying "stop" so I am. Allergies (molds) are putting me into where my head wants to explode (I crashed at 8pm last night thanks to anti-histamine mixed with my meds). I needed the sleep anyway.

It's going to be muggy today so I will be in with the AC on. Watching movies and doing some mild cleaning. Eating foods that can be cooked in microwave or toaster oven.

I filled up on gas yesterday... paid $3.92/gal since I filled up in my parents town which is always cheaper than where I live.

I had to go to Home Depot yesterday to buy the parts for the shower ($10) and while I was there grabbed a heat gun for the bedroom floor. I ended up calling a handyman to fix the shower $60 (labor price) later we can now shower. The piece the broke was pastic the new one is metal so if it does get pulled out of the wall again it will be more than the piece that sticks out of the wall it will be the entire piece above the sodder.

Today with ds#3 @ camp I'm cooking so parmsean chicken is supper tonight I'll figure out veggies later. I'm also going to make ds#1's favorite ice cream (since I made dd#1's last week) Chocolate chocolate chip with special dark candies I might add some chocolate bar shavings as well. On the construction front I'm going to take the closet door outside using my hideaway as a work area I'll strip the paint off the painted side today. I don't want dd#2 in the room with me when I use the heat gun (she grabbed hot coffee in Jan & had 1st & 2nd degree burns once is eonugh) so I'll wait till ds#1&2 get back from summer school and have them watch her while I work on pulling up more tiles.

I'll be taking the scooter to the library, Post Office and Police Dept today.  Books are due, coupon train needs to be weighed to go out, and I need to pick up some bills for one of my girls.

Dishes are all done except of course what DH used when he got home at 4 a.m.  I may put in a load of clothes this morning, just according to how my leg feels.  I really need to do the errands so I may not try to do a lot of walking until then.

Some kind of chicken dish in the crockpot later.

    Good morning everyone!

Its payday! Party!!! DB and I are both working today. We packed breakfasts, drinks, snacks & lunch. Lunch today is leftover from last night. I was going to make a breakfast for dinner, but took a look in the freezer and pantry and decided to fly by the seat of my pants LOL.  I wound up making a skillet rice dinner from scratch and hoping the rice cooked. It worked -- Woo! Browned ground beef, mixed in a small can of tomato paste, frozen veggies, 4 cups of beef broth (made w/buillion) and 3 cups of rice and lots of garlic and chili powder. Finished it with some mixed "pizza" cheese to melt over the top. It was great (DB devoured two whole plates full) and there was plenty for lunch today, enough that we could have had it for dinner too. When I sat to calculate it out it was $.50/serving.  I should write down the "recipe" before I forget how I did it. Wink

I'll eat at work and stay here on my lunch to conserve gas. I'm working on the sales flyers and menu plans today, and I'll grab DB and my grocery totes and head to the store after work.  My back's still pretty sore, so I'll need his help lifting things LOL!  I'm so sick of taking valerian root its not funny, the smell just makes you gag, blech.

Not sure what dinner will be tonight. Once I finish up with the flyers I'll have a better idea.  We haven't had seafood in a while, and mussels are on sale, so might do some mussels in white wine and get a loaf of crusty bread to go with, yum. We've done really well eating out of the pantry for the last three weeks with one stop for milk.  That's great, considering the last shopping trip I did three weeks ago was just  meant to get us through a week!  Now the cupboards are looking a bit bare, though. DD went to grandma's house today, so that added an extra 2 miles each way to my commute, but that's not bad b/c DD loves spending time at my mom's house.  Plus there's no summer program this week at school so it'll give DH a break.  (DD's school is in a church and this week is their VBS.)

All foods from home today; cooking parmesan baked fish with potatoes and broccoli for dinner.  Probably gonna add the last of the italian bread, too.  In this humidity bread doesn't last very long and any longer in the freezer and it would've been too tough to chew!

My family doctor put me on anti-inflamitories for 10 days for my knee.  He thinks I sprained it in the car accident and it just needs some minor medicinal help to finish off the healing.  I can walk just fine, but I can't kneel at all.  My friend said, "I guess you'll just have to find another way to pray!"  Anyway I picked up some Alleve -- got a regular bottle cheaper than generic with sale plus coupon that was attached to the box.

Will be posting a mid-month review of my budget under the July budget thread tonight.  So far it looks okay.

The whole point of turkey is to get to the pie.

    Re: Tuesday 7.15 $ Stretching

    Good morning!

Nice and cool right now, so no AC.

Luvd Lioness, I'm glad so that you at least got more sleep last night!  For daytime, when you want to be awake, I don't know if you've tried Claritin.  I get the generic kind at WM, and it works better for me than anything else I've ever tried.  (They have a non-Equate generic now that was $4 for 30 tablets, a better price than Equate was.)

Nanagain, I'm glad you got your shower fixed!  I'm sorry you ended up having to hire someone to fix it, but as you said, at least you can shower.  I'll be praying that your dd stays out of the room with the heat gun!  (That's so hard when a person even has to worry about the dangers of coffee around little ones.  I hope she's much better now!)

Today SHOULD be a stretchy day.  I have no plans to go anywhere.

Yesterday I got out for the first time in quite awhile. I did a loop to the bargain stores, so I was wise about the gas, but still the cheapest gas around here is $4.05.  Since I don't have access to very good coupons around here, I used www.thecouponclippers.com to get some for things that I regularly need.  This was my first time using it.  I got $75 worth of coupons for slightly over $5.

I needed cat food and planned to used the $1 coupons I got from the Coupon Clippers website to buy some at Dollar Tree.  They didn't have any this time.  The only places I could find some (Wal-mart and Big Lots), the cost with the coupon was still $1/pound and I can get Special Kitty for $.55/lb or Aldi Brand for $.33/lb, so unless there's a good sale before it expires, those aren't going to do me much good.  (There's a much larger Dollar Tree in a different nearby town, so I'm going to see if they stock it there on my next trip.)

I did have wonderful luck with my hair color coupons though!!  They expire this week, so I wanted to find the place with the best price.  Meijer won.  They're having a buy two get $5 off sale, and my coupons were buy two get $5 off, so I saved $10!  Because my hair is only medium length, I never use a whole bottle, so instead of mixing it all and then tossing the rest, I carefully mix the proportions (if you get the proportions too far off you can fry your hair, I think) in a disposable plastic cup with a plastic spoon or knife and then apply that to my hair.  (I never tear off the plastic tip so that it stays fresh.)  I get 2 to 3 colorings per bottle that way.  My HC costs $9/bottle, so I was using only about $3/month.  With the coupon and good sale, that's $4/bottle or $1.33/month!  I got 4 bottles, so that should be a year's supply!  Woo hoo!

Meijer also doubles coupons (every day) up to $.50.  I had one for Suave hair products, which were on sale, so I got shampoo and conditioner.  One was supposed to be similar to Nexxus conditioner, so we'll see.

I went to CVS and Walgreens and had no luck finding any really good deals, which was disappointing since others have such great luck with the rebates and register rewards, etc.  I usually find something I need at Dollar Tree, but not this time.  (Last time I found $1 camisoles though!  Since so many of today's shirts require them, that can be a real money saver.)

As I said, I also stopped at Big Lots.  I was hoping that they'd have a decent drying rack or clothesline or something since they usually have some nice things along those lines.  Still no luck.

At Walmart I got a bag of black beans and beef Ballpark franks on sale, plus $1 off with coupon.  On sale the beef ones were still more expensive than the regular ones, but I like them so much better than the others that I decided to splurge.

I went ahead and went to Aldi for the cat food.  While I was there I bought fish sticks, Moose Tracks ice cream and coffee creamer.  I haven't been as hungry recently, so I haven't had to re-stock quite as much, so that's money saver!

I called about disability and have a phone interview next week.  He said I'm right on the border of the deadline for whether or not my work credits will still count, so PLEASE pray about that.  I've also been making some calls about all of the other financial stuff, which is complicated, but at least I'm making some progress.  Prayers for divine intervention and peace instead of worry are much appreciated!!

Sorry this is so long!  I hope all of you are having a great day!

     Today doing school and laundry.

The boy was going to the library, so I sent a list with him of things that I needed.   No gas usage for me.

I made a pasta salad for tonight's garden party at a friends house.   I wasn't going to go because it is so far...and with the price of gas.....aaaaaanyway, another friend is going to take me.   Whoo Hooo...

    Hanging laundry out.
