I live in northern lower Michigan, grew up in suburban Detroit, and have never lived in another state (but have visited many) so I find it interesting reading about how people in other parts of the country cope, struggle, shop, make ends meet.  I find it frustrating when people say "in my state we...." but don't say which state that is and would find it helpful if people would be willing to share that information.  Thanks.

If they do not specify state, you can check under their names to the left. Some posters have their state listed. You can also click on their name and see if they have left a profile.

 Strange... I've been thinking about this off and on the last few days. It would be nice if everyone put in their profile which state they're from. So many times posts are about weather, prices or taxes, but where? Thanks for bringing it up.

I wish folks would put a bit about themselves on their profiles. It helps to look at a refresher of the poster when they aren't as active as ahem errm some of us.

I live in Virginia. Right now I am waiting for Verizon to come repair the lines so I can use the land line phone. They will be here by July 25th and I am not a happy camper about it. There is static on the line and I can't hear when i try to use the phone. I have a cell phone for emergencies that is a Pay As You Go.

Even if you don't want to post a state, just saying something like "Northwest USA" or "Deep South" would help.  

I think that at the time that I signed up with Dollar Stretcher I was so new to forums that I was being extremely cautious about what personal info I put out there, so never filled in those slots. I've changed it now. Edey
