Reading, baking, walking with the kids to my mom's, going to a free event- will be the 24 hours of free music at Orchestra Hall this weekend.  One to four shows going on for 24 hours, in the Hall, on the plaza, in the studio.  Lots of ethnic music.

    Let's see....

    ~ $0.99 milkshakes at Sonic

    ~ cross stitching

~ re-watching, for the gazillionith time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (any episode -- I have the whole series on DVD)

    ~ baking muffins or bread

    ~ inventing a new recipe

~ snuggling with my daughter (she's so independent that this only happens if 1) she's sick or 2) I bribe her....  LOL)

The whole point of turkey is to get to the pie.

    • Reading Calvin and Hobbes comic books ... they always get me smiling! Big Smile
    • watching a good show on PBS (like Nature or History Detectives)
    • indulging in ice cream and strawberries

There will be some repeat items, but here's what I do:

     1. Go for walks and pick fresh wildflowers for the table (in spring).

    2. Read books from the library or from "free piles" of abandoned books that I occasionally find on campus.

    3. Write in my journals.

    4. Look through old magazines and cut out images to use on future collages for myself or cards for friends and family

    5. Lately, I have been trying to pick up new hobbies, like learning calligraphy. I already have the pens and ink from an ancient calligraphy set I received as a teenager long ago and then forgot about, so no extra expenditures are necessary.

    - I invite people over for dinner

    - I visit with the neighbors/family

    - I take my 18 month old outside to play (ride in her wagon, her blow-up swimming pool, blow bubbles, etc.)

    - go get a snowball (that's pretty cheap!)

    - look through photo albums... especially my daughters. I've done a great job of keeping her's up and have made sure that she has pictures with all of her family members. She's only 18 months but time flies by! It's fun to look back at her birth, first steps, etc. Always cheers me up.

    - Read my bible or an inspirational book.

    God bless,

    Julie

I got thinking snow/winter when you said that... LOL... kind of hard in your location. Smile

This make me chuckle...thanks for the "cheap" laugh!! However, I'm sorry to hear you're out of chocolate!! That just plain stinks!! When will you get a fresh supply...some reinforcements, if you will?!

Tomorrow is payday....I'll get a few bars of Dove Dark if I have enough.

If not, I will have to sneak very quietly down into my pantry and grab a handful of Aldi chocolate chips....but that is only when I am desperate.

Haha. Yeah... I mean the one with the colored stuff on top. LOL.

Oh.. and I forgot to mention playing rummy (card game). We love getting together with the neighbors, make a dip to munch on, and we play cards. I could do that all night (if it weren't for the kid. LOL).

I hear ya on that one! Mine is 18 months old and doesn't stop to breath much less to cuddle with moma! When she is sick, as horrible as it sounds, I treasure those moments when she feels bad and will come lay on me. I get my "baby lovin" fix by getting her out of the crib on weekend nights and letting her sleep in our bed so that I can snuggle next to her and listen to her breath.....

perhaps this next one will be different..... with our genes, doubtful

    God bless,

    Julie
