    Homemade Aphid Insecticide

My Mom used to have a recipe for homemade aphid insecticide that I was hoping someone has.  It was made with water, dishsoap and vegetable oil and the mixture was placed in a spray bottle and sprayed directly on the plant when needed.  Does anyone know of this recipe or a similar one that I can use?  Thanks in advance!

    • the dish soap was really soap, not detergent- it has to be like ivory soap.  the oil is kind of a sticker, to make it stay on the leaves longer.  the water is just to dilute it.  about a tablespoon each of soap and oil, and water to fill a quart bottle should do it.    cherylm
