Dear ALl, There's a story in today's NYTimes.com, that says that -- because of language in the recnet Farm Bill (well, I've interpolated that) -- there will be an increase in Food Stamps allowances in October, to reflect the increased cost of living (groceries only).
By the way, after all the hard work I did on my Food Stamps recertification, I received during the same week (Sat, & I believe that I mailed the applicatin & 6 envelopes regarding medical expenses on or about Weds) notice that I'm recertified for 2 years. They acknowleged that my rent & medical expenses have increased, but since I am already receiving maximum Stamps ($162 for a single woman who is 56 years old), nothing in trh amount will change for now.
