    Bedskirts

I have a  King Sized mattress (first and last)... outfitting this bed is an expensive pain in the rear.  Even just just the essentials.
Today, I've been through three stores.... Bedskirts, unless they are included in a whole package deal (which I don't need) - average $70 !!!! grrrrr!
That, to me, is outrageous!!!!   Inflation fighter
I left the stores empty handed and determined to figure something out... Since I've been home, I remembered I have stashed a set of bargain sheets...
I pulled them out and used the fitted sheet over the box spring instead of a bedskirt - Interesting thing is... I think this is going to work better.

    Re: Bedskirts

we bought a new king sized bed about two years ago. you're right- it does cost a lot for the linens! I have found by best deals on sheets at christmas. I got a really nice 600 thread count set from costco for $45! I was very excited!

As for the bed skirt- those things never seem to be the right size anyway- they are either much too long, or too short. I think you are smart to make your own, it will definately fit better!

Here is an odd ball suggestion - measure from the floor up to where you want your bedskirt to go, then find some inexpensive short curtains, or wide valances that you like that size, enough pairs that will fit around your bed, pin or sew them to the sheet covering your box spring. Good thing is you can change them out easy enough when you get tired of them. Edey
