    Re: Granola

Mine isn't hard, but it's crunchy, depending on what I put in it. Here's a basic recipe I follow and I vary it according to what I have on hand or what sounds good at the time.

    3 cups quick oats
    1/2 cup oil
    1/2 cup honey

3 cups mixture of your choice:

    raisins
    coconut
    sunflower seeds
    dried fruit
    wheat germ
    sesame seed, etc.

Mix  everything together but the oil and honey, then mix them together and pour over the granola, blend well. Spread on cookie sheets and bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring once.

I don't make granola bars, but this is part of the recipe:

To make granola bars, add 1/3 cup butter and another 1/3 cup of honey. Press into pan, bake at 300 for 20 minutes and cut into bars when nearly cool.

I have looked all over for where I put Pat's recipe for granola. Finally dug it up here! For those who have not tried it, it's fantastic.

Thanks for the bump up.  Most of the recipes I have tried were either too complicated or the granola too dry.
