In your extremely frugal blog you talked about growing garlic on your window sill. My question is: Does it have to be a south facing window? Or would a west window work as well? I only have one in the north and one nice sill to the west. I would like to give this a shot as I think fresh garlic is much better.
Thanks, Kathy
I use a west facing window in my kitchen and it does fine. A south window might get too hot for it in the summer, but I've never even tried it so I don't know. Fresh garlic is better, I agree.
Thanks Pat. My hubby gave me a nice wide sill, covered with counter top material, so that I could grow some things in the window. I guess it's just a matter getting a can and some dirt together to give it a try.
That sill sounds nice. My windowsills are very narrow so I'm limited as to what I can use them for. A wider one, screwed to the existing one, is on my want list.
