Since December I have been trying to get my medicine "re-approved". DH's insurance doesn't consider my psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis life-threatening so they would not approve it. Abbott has been fighting their decision on my behalf since December 14th.
I realize it wasn't necessarily altruistic since they want to be paid for it, but all I ever had to do was fax them some information and talk to them on the phone. They have kept me updated about every 2 weeks.
The caseworker called me last night to tell me that they had exhausted all avenues with both the pharmacy plan and insurance company and so they will be providing the meds free of cost again. This is no small thing since the shots are around $700 to $800 each and I take them every 14 days.
I nearly cried when she told me because I have had nightmares of regressing and not being able to go out in public again.
