    Crowded stores

Given the fact that I have an extensive background in retail mgt.  I must wonder how Dollar General passes a fire marshall inspection.  The three stores in my general area have ailse that are not wide enough for two of their mini carts to pass on.  Heaven help you if they are stocking and there are cases on the floor.  Durring busy hours, it would be most difficult for customers to get out safely if there was a fire.

While I am at it, I also wonder if they have heard of the Americans With Disabilities Act.  A wheelchair bound customer can not navagate in those stores.  I asked one of the managers about these problems and he just laughed and said that corporate tells them to pack the merchandise in and let them worry about the fire marshall.  Hmmmmmmmmm.  Best wishes.

Or safely get out of the building following an earthquake. Warehouse type stores (like Costco or Home Depot) are scary too. I asked a fire dept. employee who was teaching a disaster class what should one do in a warehouse type store in case of an earthquake, and he said there are red painted areas of the shelving units that are kept empty just for the purpose of getting under the shelves. It is safer under a shelf then remaining in the aisle where heavy items on top could be tipping and falling. I haven't found those red areas but I imagine any empty shelving area would be safer than being in the aisles. E

I was in a dollar store a few years back where I was constantly going around or stepping over things. You're right, I can't imagine that it's too safe.
