    Thanksgiving On a Budget

Allrecipes has a great article on spending less for the holidays.

I agree with the cost savings tips. Do you put some of these to use? Do you do anything differently?

Every year I participate in a Thanksgiving potluck at work versus purchasing all of the ingredients for a home meal.  I LOVE IT as they let me take home the leftovers and there are usually plenty.

    Re: Thanksgiving On a Budget

If you are going to spend thanksgiving with other people, instead of making dinner or buying food for everyone, why not make it a potluck? You can assign yourself the main dish and ask your guests to bring side dishes of their own. This will not only help you save money but you will have a variety of recipes available for your guests. Moreover, if you cannot afford to buy a whole turkey, only buy a portion of which you think is enough for your guests. In this way, you will not have to throw stuff out. Always check your credit score and monitor how your credit score changes to know how much more you can allot for your thanksgiving budget.
