    What's YOUR Favorite Site?

Would you like to review it? Feel free to do so right here. Just put the name of the site in the Subject line so we'll know what it's about. If you have a site, feel free to review it here, too.

    Here are some quick guidelines:

    • The site needs to have something to do with saving money, getting out of debt, etc. In other words, it needs to be in line with the frugal lifestyle
    • Personal sites are fine, but they need to have more content than just frugal Aunt Jo's birthday pictures. Only review sites that would be of interest to people who don't know you (or your frugal Aunt Jo)
    • Most large sites are well known by the frugal community, so avoid them and show us something we don't know about.
    • You can review a blog or a web site.
    • We reserve the right to delete inappropriate reviews or edit content to keep within our community guidelines, found here:http://community.stretcher.com/forums/11/ShowThread.aspx#11

Fair enough? If you don't think so or you have an idea you're not sure about,  let me know at pat@stretcher.com

At one time, another site was my all time favorite until it became petty and vindictive.  This site is rapidly becoming my favorite despite some difficulties navigating around.  I can't figure out how to determine whether or not there are any new postings unless I reread the entire thread.  I do have to say I am technically challenged!!
I also like No More Debt and often read the Simple Living site.

Thanks for the vote, Patrink! ;)

You should be able to find directions for navigation in the "About These Forums" section. If not, post a question there and I'll answer it for all to see.

I'm recommending Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project blog because it could save many of our members from prescriptions for expensive nerve pills!

I also like The Simple Dollar and Lifehacker for money-saving or time-saving ideas.  Wise Bread is another good one but I forget it all too often after plowing through my e-mail.

    Re: What's YOUR Favorite Site?

I really enjoy most of the posts from The Simple Dollar site.  I think the one thing that does kinda bother me is that he spends about $700/month for his family of 4 (2 young children; no teens or tweens) each month.  I understand that he values whole foods, organic, etc. and that his budget allows for him to express his personal values in this way.  However, I wish spent a little more time with those of us who do the best we can, but really don't have it in our budget to do 75% or more organic.  (Heck, I'm lucky if we get 1 or 2 organic foods a week and that's b/c I happen to have a coupon or find it on markdown....)

I also really dig the $5 dinners blog; the author is getting ready to come out with a cookbook.  I just really enjoy that she takes the time to show people that good, healthy, well-rounded meals can be had if you spend a bit of time planning things out.  She's been doing some gardening this summer and that's been fun to watch.  She's really getting into using what's being grown -- either for right away or the future.  She's a bit of a novice so I'm hoping to read back on her entries next year when I do my own beginner gardening.

One thing that I really commend both of these bloggers for -- their children eat the healthy food placed in front of them.  My DD is also a good eater and loves her veggies and fruit and it can take a lot for a child to get to that point.  It does help to start them off early with a positive attitude about food; I hope to continue watching their kids (and my own) make healthy food choices.

The whole point of turkey is to get to the pie.

    This morning's discoveries:  http://www.garbage-vpot.com and http://www.recyclart.org

Garbage is in French, but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying a great collection of repurposed items. I'm in awe of the tiny-house ideas on recyclart.
