Dillons Chicken Prices and So Called Sale

I just got back from shopping at Dillons, our local Kroger store.  The chicken had been marked up to $12 for 3 chicken breasts.  The sale was buy one get one.  The last time I checked, chicken cost $6 a package.  This is the last time I shop there.  Walmart beats their prices hands down.

Dear Misscas, I shop almost only at Cala/Ralphs/Kroger.  I have never noticed a price increase on a loss-leader sale item.  I am sorry to hear that that is not a national policy.  Yours in Him, Deb

It's rare for any store not to mark up the price on buy one get one free.

I used to work at a Fred Myer here in Seattle and the managers were always whining about how the "food" department wasn't bringing in the profits. This doesn't suprise me. Fortunatly I live in an area where I can avoid such stores and their questionable pricing practices. Safeway does the same thing.

Dillons is really awful about upping prices on their two for one sales.  I did get some great buys there today though......ended up getting one 12 pack of coke completely free, four twelve packs for 10.00 and two totally free boxes of Cheese Its (had some great coupons)  plus several other good buys........with Dillons I ONLY shop when the sales are something I use regularly and I have coupons on top of that......BUT I dislike their "Plus" card........feel like they are just trying to get way to much information about my purchases.  (for those who don't have Dillon's.......you can't get the sale prices UNLESS you have their "Plus" card)

I have a friend who works at Dillons.......but shops for her groceries at Walmart (because of the price jacking that her store does)
