I am looking for recipes for dried flavored coffees, particularly vanilla and/or orange. I need something that is stable at room temperature, at least for a week or two. I cannot get vanilla powder where I live; can vanilla extract be added to ground (non-instant) coffee? Is there some way to dry orange peel and/or concentrated orange juice to make it shelf-stable? Thank you!

Brewed Orange Coffee

1/3cup coffee (regular grind)
1/2 tsps orange zest
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Blend coffee and dry ingredients in a blender.

Blend in flavoring and extracts.

Scrape sides and blend 15 seconds more.

Makes one 8-cup pot.
 
Add sugar/sweetener and/or creamer as desired.

To give as a gift: Place coffee mix in a filter. Place filter on a square of plastic wrap. Draw together with a ribbon.

Gayla I got one for you in the I stole a recipe for you from the rest. where I work at mexican coffe thhat you have unsweeten cocoa powder in it and a cinamon stick and whipped topping taste pretty good I have that working and this orange coffee sounds great thanks.

My DIL loves this one she is the queen of coffee flavors she likes orange , and she likes  to flavor creamers too.. she had a peppermint one this am ..  have to admit it good smell .

 I love flavored coffees but we treat ourselves to packaged ones only on special occassions. I think we as dollar stretchers can find ways to use what we have in our pantries to add to our regular coffee.

Sometimes things get buried here but thankfully those came up.

With the price of coffee as it is, I am interested in trying some of these recipes instead of purchasing flavored coffee as I do to treat us.

You can mix dry pudding mix with store brand powdered creamer to get some good flavors.  Try butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate.  I add some dry instant milk to it too.  Sorry I don't have exact measurements but I use 1 box of instant pudding and about the same amount of creamer and about 1/2 as much instant milk.  I add some sugar to my coffee sometimes to sweeten it up a bit more.  Butterscotch is my favorite.

You know, the powdered pudding mix suggestion gives me an idea... you could take cold coffee, put it in the blender with pudding mix and powdered creamer and make yourself a faux-Frappuccino.
