    Rental Decorating

Decorating can be fun and stamps your home as your own. This is not so easy if you are renting the space you live in.

Some frugal and easy ways to work around the home you can't change permanently is to think in terms of items that can be moved. Free standing shelves can hold pictures and items that don't have to be attached to walls but perk a room's visual appeal up. Curtains can be bought in more vibrant colors to add a slash to rooms that are blah in color. Curtains can have trim, ties or other pieces added cheaply for a frugal lift to plain and cheaper panels. Pillows on couches and chairs can also liven a room with color.

What are some other ideas for decorating?

3M makes a "Command" line of adhesives that can be stuck to the walls. They are strong enough to hold picture frames, and they detach cleanly from the wall. This saves you from nailing holes into the walls, which might be a no-no according to your landlord.
