    The Comb in the Honey

Besides the canned grape jelly, I also bought honey. I was running a bit low after my cough syrup remedies for everyone.

I bought one from the same store as the jelly so this was not a commercially processed one. The jar still has the comb in it. Previously I was buying directly from a man who jarred the honey himself, he would offer with or without the comb.

Other than taking up space in the jar, what can the comb be used for?

there is a way of making candles, but I'm not sure how. My kids always liked me to get the combs with the honey so they could chew on them.

Chewing on them sounds good too.

The honey I was buying and this jar are both local. I just added in a middle man this time by buying at the produce store instead of from someone directly. This jar came with some comb in it and since I am stuck with it and less honey that could have been in it's place..I thought I might see what could be done with it.

Honeycomb can be eaten. Cut it up and serve along with the honey on hot bread. Some people say honey kept in the comb is better flavored, but I couldn't tell the difference. There's some info here: http://www.airborne.co.nz/combhoney.html
