Reader's question: How to disguise bathroom pipes.

    From a reader:

I have a small bathroom. Umder the bathroom sink the pipes are exposed.
I can cover that with a sink skirt. the problem is there are pipes that extends
outside the sink. Right next to the sink is the toilet. This is the situation, when
you sit on the toilet, your legs touch the exposed pipes from the sink. I need
to know how to cover up the extra pipes that extends out. Any suggestions
    Help. It is ugly.
    Any ideas?

Forget the skirt and paint them the color of the wall.  The darker the paint the better.

Hi ... I could see the sink skirt used to cover under the sink, thus allowing a covered storage space. As for the pipe touching your leg, could you wrap batting around the pipe and then attach fabric around it, of the wall color to blend - use buttons, snaps, velcro. Is the pipe cold on your leg?

I heartily second painting the pipes, but instead of painting them to disguise them and blend them into the wall color, you could try painting them to be eye-catching and spiffy. In my mind's eye, I'm seeing a fun pop color to accent whatever color scheme you have, or something beautiful to look at like flowers or playful stripes or whatever floats your boat.

Don't paint over any pipe connection you might need to disassemble later!
