I made a small locker hook by melting a hole in a small crochet hook.

    How hard was that?

I can email them to you or send them through a private message.

Thanks Pat. I would appreciate that. Email would be fine. Then I could get a hard copy of it.

You can make a very pretty and edible gift basket by using a bread pan and cookie dough.  Make sure you cover the loaf pan with tin foil, shiny side up.  Then spray well with vegetable spray, not heavily but well coated.  Then take a nice cookie dough from the fridge that has been rolled and chilled overnight.  Cut in thin slices, remembering that cookie dough does puff up a bit.  I find that sugar cookie or gingersnap cookie dough works best.  But have used oatmeal and chocolate chip dough with great success.

You start on the bottom center of the pan overlapping the dough rounds, then do each side of the bottom.  Now round the next layer over the edge making sure you overlap by about 1/4" on all the rounds.  Then layer up both sides and ends of the pan(s).  Bake per instructions for the cookie dough used, usually 350 degrees F for 8 - 12 minutes.  Let the pan(s) set for about 8 minutes or so before flipping pan over and letting the cookie basket slide off the pan.  Remove tin foil if necessary and let cool completely.

I fill mine with coconut peanut brittle, mini cookies, homemade truffles, and a small jelly jar of cookie dip.  Wrap it in cellophane and tie a nice ribbon around the gathered top.  I add a card letting the recipient know the bowl is edible.

You can also use a muffin tin to make smaller baskets and fill with fresh fruits and serve.  Or paint the insides with melted chocolate (or butterscotch, mint chocolate, white chocolate, etc.)and fill with mousse, puddings, yogurts, dips, etc.

Re: My Plans for Christmas Presents

I am running in circles over Christmas. In years past, I would be more than halfway done with gift buying...I haven't even started this year!!!

Fruitcake for everyone and a mug...HA!

Seriously, I am thinking of giving my in-laws families each a basket with some homemade goodies, a jar of cocoa, a mug for each family member, a fruitcake, a few candies, Christmas scented candles and some decorations.

This year I was thinking of making either a tote probably shaped something like this: http://www.reusablebags.com/store/acme-bags-earthtote%E2%84%A2-reusable-shopping-p-10.html

Or a compact one something like this: http://www.reusablebags.com/store/acme-bags-workhorse-style-1500-p-1.html

im not sure what one i have from this company ( mom got me 4 of them for my bday in july) cause where lives in washington, theres this neat store called octopus garden, and they have really nice indian shopping bags ---but they ar 15.95 plus tax each, so mom did some research an got me 4 from the company,  she said they were buy 3 get one free, so for 4 hemp cotton bags, and shiping and handling (she had them mailed right to me) she said it was just over 20......the ones i hav are really good sized, (they hold close to 35 pounds of groceries easily---2 gallons of milk fit in one bag i that helps anyone size wize, they are sturdy enough to hold 40 canned items too) ad they have long shoulder handles, and the short hand held handles as well........im sure i could make some but the thng is, everyone i know still uses those hideous plastcic bags, so in my case making them would be a waste of time, engery and money...........

as fo xmas........im making homemde pancake mix to put into my washed and sterilized speggeti sauce jars (found out albertsons essencia brand is just as good as the classico we like---btu the lables dont come off as easily)  and because we have food stamps, i think i will splurge a bit and get some of those yummy flavored syrups too.....if i could find some small jars with lids, i would jsut give everyone some of the gallon of syrup i bought 5 months ago, stll over half way full (i think it was 4.99?) i would like to make a few pillows for people, but i think that the cost fo the fleece and the polly fill, is way too much here, so pillows are an option this year for my little sister, franks 2 nieces and my children

How cool is that? Of course I hadn't thought of that, but I have seen them before. Sounds like a yummy idea for a few of my grand-kids. Especially since I don't make chocolate chip cookies, lol, I make M & M cookies. I know, spoiled. he he

    Brandy,

Do you have the recipe for homemade hot cocoa mix? It's pretty good.

    Gigi,

If you don't think they would use them, then you may be right about making the totes.

I think it's a wonderful idea to make food gifts, like pancake mix, for Christmas gifts. I got some pancake mix for Christmas this last year. Yummy!
